If there’s a single area of the Dodgers as a whole that we haven’t spoken much about over the winter, it’s undeniably the crew which makes up the infield. While there are tons of good things to say regarding each player, not many negative aspects exist. At the end of the day, on paper at least, this group could very easily be considered among the best in the game on both sides of the ball.

Even though the best available arms at Oklahoma City will undeniably be called upon more than once during the upcoming campaign, if the big league starting rotation of the Dodgers somehow stays relatively healthy for the majority of the season, the projected Triple-A rotation certainly has both the required talent and potential to be among the most elite in recent history.

The Dodgers have done an excellent job this offseason getting the gang back together. Over the weekend, Chase Utley reportedly agreed to a one-year deal to return to the team. Even though he could find more playing time elsewhere, perhaps even a starting position, he chose to come back to LA. Sure, he’s a SoCal native at the end of his career, and maybe he just didn’t feel like starting over again. But most likely he recognized that this team has an excellent chance to win it all this year.

Upon learning that the Dodgers selected reliever Kyle Grana in the latter portion of MLB’s Rule 5 Draft in December, many dedicated fans of the club immediately began searching the web near and far in attempts to gain knowledge about the hard-throwing righty from Missouri, only to come up short of any significant information in the end.

In a flurry of interesting developments on Friday night, the Dodgers have reportedly reached one-year agreements with infielder Chase Utley and outfielder Franklin Gutierrez, both of whom are no strangers to the organization. These two recent deals, along with the addition of righty reliever Sergio Romo, have created a logjam on an already overcrowded 40-man roster, requiring the club to make three corresponding moves before the trio of new contracts can be made official.

Dodger Baseball: Can’t Hardly Wait

I’ll be home when I’m sleeping
I can’t hardly wait

It’s a sight for Dodgers fans sore eyes — on Thursday, the trucks were loaded up and headed to Camelback Ranch for spring training. Pitcher and catchers report on Wednesday, one day after Valentine’s Day, a little love note to all baseball fans.

Considering the manner in which his 2016 campaign came to an undesirable close, many fans of the Dodgers were not overwhelmingly excited in November when starting pitcher Scott Kazmir chose not to opt out of his current contract and remain with Los Angeles in 2017. Yet after showing a few glimpses of his former successful self in the early portion of last season, Kazmir definitely has the potential to bolster and strengthen the Dodgers’ rotation if he can stay healthy and maintain consistent mechanics throughout the year.

After outlining our intermediate 25-man roster projections yesterday, one notion that came to mind straight away was considering how the Dodgers might benefit from a potential deal with another club — in effect, adding another productive piece to an already very deep 40-man roster.
