The Los Angeles Dodgers won a wild and crazy game on Sunday, to complete a regular season sweep of the Chicago Cubs. After going down 5-0 in the top of the first, they completed a comeback to win the game 11-9.

At the exact halfway mark of the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers control the National League West division by a half-dozen games over their nearest competitor. They’re 25 games over .500, a mark that many fans would have expected at the onset of the season.

The All-Star Game has been scheduled to come to Chavez Ravine for a very long time. It was originally supposed to be held in 2020, but due to the pandemic, it was pushed back to 2022. For a period of time, it looked like it was cursed as the lockout loomed large before this season.

Three of the organization’s highest-ranking prospects will be making their Dodger Stadium debuts much sooner than anticipated.
Although Diego Cartaya, Bobby Miller and Miguel Vargas won’t be competing at the major league level, they’ll be representing the Dodgers in the MLB Futures Game on July 16 as part of this year’s All-Star extravaganza.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have finally seemed to put it all together. They have won six of their last seven and now have a 5.5 game lead in the NL West over the San Diego Padres.
Unfortunately, though, it seems as if the Dodgers will be without their All-Star Utility man Chris Taylor for at least the next several weeks.

In 2021, Julio Urias was a 20-game-winner and was the National League leader in wins. While he may not win 20 games this year, his overall numbers have improved. In 16 starts this season, Urias has posted a 2.57 ERA.
In Monday’s start against the Colorado Rockies, Urias pitched six innings only allowing one run and one walk while striking out seven. The left-hander since last year’s All-Star Break has the second-best ERA in the National League at 2.32.

If you had told Los Angeles Dodgers fans on Thursday, before the start of the four game series with the San Diego Padres, that the Dodgers would take three of four, most would be incredibly happy with that.
Indeed, that is something to be happy about. The Dodgers increased their lead in the NL West by two games and now are 3.5 games ahead of the Padres.

Trailing the entire game, the Padres scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday to defeat the Dodgers 4-2 and avoid a four-game sweep at Dodger Stadium.
After starting the series with a 1-1/2 game division lead over the Padres, the Dodgers find themselves 3-1/2 games up over their Southern California rivals. Even though it was a productive series for Los Angeles, Sunday’s loss was still disappointing because the team was so close to the sweep.
