In a current series of prospect rankings put together by MLB.com, infielders Kody Hoese and Michael Busch of the Dodgers were named among MLB’s best position prospects.
Hampered by a broken finger at the end of last season, Keibert Ruiz was unable to join a handful of other prospects the Dodgers brought up to the big league roster. However, the switch-hitting native of Venezuela’s 2020 campaign could be the year he finally makes his long-awaited MLB debut.
While it was much easier to project a working bullpen for the Dodgers about a month ago, the additions of both Alex Wood and Jimmy Nelson not only affect the landscape of the starting rotation, but will also have an indirect impact on the 2020 relief corps.
As the steam from this winter’s hot stove has seemingly subsided, hopefully the anger and frustration resulting from the Houston and Boston scandals follow suit. The fallout from these improprieties has been especially hurtful to all those affiliated with the Dodgers, but like anything else, perhaps the coaching staff and the players can try to turn these negatives into positives, producing a boundless energy that will lead them to success during the upcoming campaign.

There’s probably no other player on the Dodgers‘ active roster scrutinized more than lefty starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw.
