Now that it’s safe to assume that the Dodgers are almost a lock to face the Nationals in the NLDS in just a few short weeks, we decided it’s a pretty good time to reveal our first draft of what we expect the club’s playoff roster to look like for the opening series of the postseason. Today, we’ll take a peek at our projected list of the position players, while disclosing the players we think will make up the entirety of the pitching staff on Sunday.

Up until just a few days ago, it seemed as if the Dodgers‘ front office crew was looking to move outfielder Yasiel Puig to another club in hopes of acquiring a player or two who could conceivably upgrade the squad in the 2016 playoffs. While it was rumored the Brewers claimed Puig off waivers and were working on a trade centered around veteran Ryan Braun, both sides failed to reach an agreement, and the Dodgers eventually decided to pull Puig back onto the roster.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a talented, 25-year-old Cuban tearing up pitchers in Triple-A, while the player the Dodgers acquired to replace him has been all but non-existent in the lineup — an easy out. For all intents and purposes, Yasiel Puig seems like the answer to the only weak spot in a surging Dodgers lineup, Josh Reddick.

While many of us thought for certain the upper management crew of the Dodgers would place Yasiel Puig on waivers during the final few weeks of August, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported early Saturday that the front office has no intention of trading the 25-year-old outfielder at this juncture of the season.

While star outfielder Yasiel Puig and pitching prospect Jose De Leon both had impressive evenings for Oklahoma City on Wednesday, center fielder Corey Brown was the big hero of the game, connecting on a two-run smash in the bottom of the ninth inning to clinch a 3-2 victory over former Dodgers’ affiliate Albuquerque, evening the series at one apiece.
