If there’s any conceivable way the management crew of the Dodgers can pull off a quality waiver trade to bolster the bullpen before the end of the August, all options should be considered, regardless of a hefty price tag.
Expected to make a number of roster moves heading into Wednesday’s contest at Colorado, the Dodgers recalled righty Brock Stewart, who will take the hill in a spot-start, left-hander Julio Urias and right-handed reliever Josh Fields, officially announcing the transactions just several hours before the first pitch.
With the non-waiver trade deadline now only several days away, plenty of speculation is being circulated about the Dodgers‘ intentions to upgrade, despite the club’s front office remaining relatively calm and quiet.
In what turned out to be a very surprising development Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that rookie Julio Urias will temporarily rejoin the rotation and start the series finale against the Nationals on Thursday.
The Dodgers will take another step in attempting to bolster their starting rotation on Thursday when the club activates lefty Hyun-jin Ryu from the 60-day disabled list to start the series opener against the Padres.
With staff ace Clayton Kershaw on the shelf until at least mid-July nursing a lower-back ailment, members of the Dodgers‘ latest starting rotation crew are set to close out the first half of the season on a strong note before earning four days of well-deserved rest over the All-Star break.
With only a little over five weeks remaining until the 2016 non-waiver trade deadline, many fans are wondering just how active the Dodgers will be, and how many top-shelf prospects the club is willing to sacrifice to achieve immediate, overall improvement.

Sometimes, I suppose, it’s easy for us to forget how lucky we are. We get bogged down in the day to day minutia and only focus on the bad things happening to us. This happens with sports fandom also. It’s so easy to focus on all the things that are going wrong with your team, that you don’t see all the amazing things that are happening in front of you.
Because 19-year-old rookie Julio Urias was on a predetermined innings limit at the beginning of the season, the Dodgers‘ lefty could be on schedule to make only one more big league start in 2016, regardless of how well he performs his next time out.

Good morning from our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.! I think I picked a good time to be on limited social media and TV time of watching our beloved team. Last week was not the best of weeks for the Dodgers. But, it is my job in this weekly recap to come up with only the positives. So, here we go.
