At the end of the postseason, players who were eligible became free agents. On Sunday, qualifying offers were extended from teams to their free agents whom they deemed worth extending that offer to, and who were also eligible for one.

The Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly have made their first free agent signing of the 2021 off-season, and it wasn’t Clayton Kershaw.
According to reports, LHP Andrew Heaney will be (re)joining the Dodgers. Heaney was once traded from the Miami Marlins along with Kiké Hernandez, Austin Barnes and Chris Hatcher to the Dodgers in 2014, only to be flipped to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for Howie Kendrick two days later.

We have now entered full offseason mode, and there will be periods in which rumors will come and go, some true and some not. Us as fans love to speculate, and it’s part of baseball fandom. The past couple of offseason periods were quite dry early and nothing did not really happen till closer to Spring Training, let’s hope there’s more clarity this time around, even as the chance of a strike looms.

On Tuesday evening, the Atlanta Braves defeated the Houston Astros 7-0 in a decisive Game 6 to win the 2021 World Series. And thus, the off-season has officially begun.
This upcoming winter is going to be probably one of the most frustrating and longest in Los Angeles Dodgers memory, and they’ve had quite a few of those recently. From anguish of not getting the job done in the playoffs, to wondering what players may or may not be re-signed, this off-season has all of that with the added bonus of a possible players’ strike.

We as Dodger fans have most likely seen the end of this amazing group of core, homegrown players who when augmented by stealth trades and big signings have made one of the best runs in modern history. Eight straight division titles, with the ninth just out of reach by one game, after winning 106 games. Three World Series appearances, and one Championship. But it still doesn’t feel like enough.

Powered by a three-run homer by Eddie Rosario in the fourth inning, the Atlanta Braves’ offense did just enough to defeat the Dodgers in NLCS Game 6 on Saturday and advance to the 2021 World Series.

With a massive 11-2 win against the Atlanta Braves, the Los Angeles Dodgers stayed alive in their hunt to repeat as World Champions. With the victory, also won their seventh consecutive elimination game.
All-star Chris Taylor put the team on his back by homering three times and knocking in six runs. Taylor ended the night 4-for-5. Taylor and AJ Pollock essentially beat the Braves themselves in a way. Pollock homered two times and knocked in four runs, as the two combined for ten RBI. Let’s hope the offense continues to explode in the next two games.
