While there isn’t any baseball until late February when pitchers and catchers report to spring training, it doesn’t mean baseball takes a break, as many activities continue year-round. Teams have begun to hire new managers, and soon teams will look to make free-agent offseason splashes. While the winter meetings may not be the same as previous years, baseball fans across the world will be refreshing their Twitter feed to hear the latest rumors as the offseason progresses.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the 2020 World Series champions. I will never get tired of saying, reading, or writing that phrase.

Enough about 1988! For the first time in 32 years, the Dodgers have won the World Series. The seventh title in franchise history. The most tumultuous year of the century in which many didn’t know what was in store, with baseball as an afterthought. No one knew if a Major League season would even take place. But baseball eventually got up and dusted itself off, and in the end, one team was standing—the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Despite being one out away from complete control of the World Series, things fell apart at the seams for the Dodgers at the end of Game 4, as the Rays scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to secure an 8-7 victory, evening the series at two games apiece.

Walker Buehler had yet another outstanding postseason performance. Buehler’s final line was six innings pitched, only allowing one run on three hits while striking out ten batters. The Dodgers gave Buehler an early lead when Justin Turner homered off Rays starter Charlie Morton in the first inning. From then on, Los Angeles cruised to a 6-2 Game 3 win and a 2-1 lead in the 2020 World Series.

The Dodgers find themselves in a semi-familiar place, tied 1-1 with the Rays in the World Series.
As it turned out, the “bullpen by committee” tactic didn’t turn out to be as effective as the Dodgers had hoped in Game 2, as the Rays struck early on their way to a 6-4 victory, tying the series at one game apiece.
