In the opening round of the 2024 MLB Draft on Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers selected shortstop Kellon Lindsey from Hardee High School (Wauchula, FL) in the first round with the 23rd overall pick. The team continued to add on day two on Monday, landing three pitchers and four position players, including two high school and five collegiate players.

In what could easily have been a sweep, the Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the final two games of the weekend series to the Detroit Tigers and limped into the 2024 MLB All-Star break despite still having the best record in the National League West.
In Saturday’s middle game, the Dodgers led by as many as five runs before the bullpen self-imploded. Ricky Vanasco, Evan Phillips and Yohan Ramirez surrendered a total of seven runs over the final two innings, handing Detroit the 11-9 victory.

As the active roster of the Los Angeles Dodgers continues to spin in circles, fans can add another name to their get-to-know list this weekend.
In Sunday’s weekend series finale against the Brewers, 23-year-old lefty Justin Wrobleski will get his first major league start. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 190 pounds, the Illinois native is probably smaller than today’s standards for starting pitchers. However, he’s one of the fastest rising stars on the farm and packs an above average heater that clocks in around 97 MPH.
As the 2024 MLB trade deadline approaches, the Los Angeles Dodgers could be among the teams that make significant moves. Currently controlling the National League West, the Dodgers are seemingly evaluating opportunities to strengthen their roster. As the deadline draws near, all eyes are on Los Angeles to see how they navigate the trade market and position themselves for success in the second half of the season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Wednesday morning the acquisition of Cavan Biggio from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for minor league right-handed pitcher Braydon Fisher.
Biggio, 29, was designated for assignment on June 7 after appearing in 44 games for the Blue Jays. He hit .200 with four doubles, two homers and nine RBI this season with Toronto. He spent six seasons with the Blue Jays, slashing a combined .227/.343/.382 with 77 doubles, four triples, 48 homers and 176 RBI in 490 career games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the fifth round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Notre Dame University.

Going back four years to the 2020 World Championship team, it appeared that the Los Angeles Dodgers had an incredibly solid outfield foundation at the major league level. Mookie Betts was among the elite right fielders in the game, and despite his offensive inconsistencies, Cody Bellinger was an extraordinary defender in center. Although Joc Pederson was drifting past his prime as a hitter and defender, Chris Taylor produced the second-best OPS of his career at .843.

After an ugly stretch involving the club’s worst losing streak in recent years, the Los Angeles Dodgers have won five of their last six games thanks to some timely hitting and solid pitching against the Mets and Rockies.
Although the club’s current offensive output hasn’t been anywhere near the numbers it produced over the first several weeks of the season, the team seems to be doing just enough to put themselves in the winning column, albeit against some of the worst teams in the league.

Heading into the beginning of the current road trip in Cincinnati, most fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers would have never presumed there was even a slight chance of being swept by the Reds. After all, Cincinnati was 18-30 at the beginning of the series, well-cemented in the bottom of the National League Central.
