Major League Baseball today announced that Justin Turner was named as the Dodgers’ 2022 nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award, one of baseball’s most prestigious individual honor for major leaguers.
The annual award recognizes the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are doing their best to stay hot, just like the weather in California right now. After losing the first game, the Boys in Blue ended up taking two-of-three from the San Francisco Giants.
As such as the weather was so incredibly warm, the balls were flying out of Dodger Stadium. 16 home runs were hit in total, and all but two of the totals runs scored were plated by the long ball.

While we’ve seen moments of a possible resurgence of a 2019 Bellinger this year, it hasn’t come close to full circle, and fans are starting to become restless about the former MVP’s future.
If you’re ingrained in any Dodger social media space, you’ve probably seen the Jerry Hairston Jr. rant on Bellinger in the Sportsnet LA postgame. Hairston made some excellent points, and with the postseason coming soon, it raises the question of how Bellinger will be used.

While many fans of the Dodgers anticipated a much tighter division race at the beginning of the season, the final meeting between Los Angeles and San Francisco at Dodger Stadium this year has little impact on the way the NL West is turning out.
Before Monday’s first pitch, the Dodgers own a full 19-game lead over the Padres. The Giants are still on the southside of .500 with a 64-68 record and 27-1/2 games out of first place.

Even though fans won’t see a flurry of roster additions compared to previous seasons, the Dodgers still made several moves on the first day teams were permitted to add two additional players.
To fill out their roster, the team added starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw an infielder Miguel Vargas.
Kershaw gets the start in series finale against the Mets in New York on Thursday afternoon.
