Dodgers News and Notes – Gonsolin’s Dominance, Heaney’s Return and More

Once again, Tony Gonsolin was called upon to be the stopper for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ losing skid. Once again, Gonsolin more than delivered.

The Catman went 6.1 innings, allowing only 1 hit, walking two, and striking out six while facing the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Tuesday. He faced Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani three times – the only hit he allowed was to Ohtani. Otherwise he shut those excellent batters down.

Off Days Come at Perfect Time for Slumping Dodgers

When the Los Angeles Dodgers are good, they are very very good, and when they are bad, they are horrid.

Now, horrid may actually a little too harsh a word, but things were not great for the Dodgers this past weekend in San Francisco. Los Angeles was swept by the Giants, and only managed to score four runs total despite having an incredible amount of chances to score in each game.

Dodgers Injury Updates and Other Notes

The Los Angeles Dodgers have made it to the end of their marathon month, 31 games in 30 days, and are finally enjoying their first day off since May 19th. After two road trip and two home stands, the Dodgers finish this slog-fest with a record of 19-12, and 35-19 overall.

Clayton Kershaw Lands On Injured List as Dodgers Look To Even Series Against Phillies

What a wild game on Thursday, as the Los Angeles Dodgers were edged out by the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 9-7. After the Phillies led 7-1, the Dodgers came back and tied the game at 7 in the eighth inning. However, the Phillies scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning off of Dodger reliever Daniel Hudson.

Things to Keep an Eye on Through the Dodgers Season, Opening Day Roster Announced

On Friday, the Los Angeles Dodgers will begin their quest to win another World Series.

This team and season are a bit reminiscent of the 2017 team, where the expectations were sky high – win the World Series or bust. The feeling around the league is that the Dodgers are the best team around, and anything less than making the World Series, and winning, would be a disappointment.

But as we saw last season, things happen along the way to derail the train on the way to the station. Fighting for the division right down until the last games, losing a key starting pitcher and your first baseman made it hard to repeat as world champs.
