As the weeks of summer start to pass by at a quick pace, it means that the 2019 trade deadline is rapidly approaching. Unlike previous years, there will be no period allowed for waiver deals, meaning that there should be a huge amount of bustle among many teams before time runs out on July 31.
Deservedly so, this afternoon Dodgers infielder Max Muncy was named to the 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, which will take place on Tuesday, July 9 at Progressive Field in Cleveland. Muncy is replacing Nationals infielder Anthony Rendon of the Washington Nationals and will join teammates Cody Bellinger, Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu at the 90th annual All-Star festivities.

Joc Pederson of the Dodgers has accepted an invitation to compete in the 2019 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday, July 8. The 2019 Derby will be held at Progressive Field in Cleveland and will be broadcast live by ESPN and MLB.com beginning at 8:00 PM Eastern and 5:00 PM Pacific times.
