Dodgers Prospect Watch: Niko Hulsizer Rising Quickly

The first time we took a look at Dodgers‘ outfield prospect Niko Hulsizer last winter, he had just completed his first year in the organization at Ogden in the Pioneer League, where he hit a respectable .281/.426/.531 with nine home runs, 13 doubles and 32 RBI over 160 AB. However, when considering his high school and college pedigree, we knew that he would continue to emerge through the 2019 season, especially in the area of the power department.

Dodgers Look to Start New Winning Streak Against Rival Giants

It turns out that Nolan Arenado was not correct when he said that the Dodgers would never lose again. Los Angeles lost a disappointing game to the Arizona Diamondbacks Wednesday, and sadly a record of 143 –39 is no longer attainable.

Dodgers Activate Austin Barnes, Option Will Smith to Oklahoma City

Note to Dodgers Fans: Don’t Give Up on Joe Kelly Just Yet

Joe Kelly was lights out in the playoffs in 2018. The hard-throwing righty went 11 innings, striking out 13 and not issuing a single walk. He allowed just one earned run, posting a 0.79 ERA in the process. However, Kelly hasn’t been quite effective this year for the Dodgers, surrendering four home runs, striking out 20 and walking eight. He has allowed 17 earned runs in 19.1 innings pitched, equating to an ERA of 7.91.

In a Battle of NL Powerhouses, Dodgers Sweep Phillies in Los Angeles

In what initially seemed like it would be a tight contest to the finish, the Dodgers piled on seven runs in a lopsided eighth inning, propelling them to an 8-0 victory over the Phillies at Chavez Ravine on Sunday. The win clinched the series sweep for the Dodgers, who now have 41 wins on the year—more than any other team in baseball.

Yimi Garcia: Possible Diamond in the Rough?

The Dodgers seem to have a knack for finding effective, under-the-radar relievers. Last year it was Dylan Floro, the year before it was Brandon Morrow, and in 2016 it was a workhorse in Joe Blanton.  This year the Dodgers diamond in the rough reliever very well may be Yimi Garcia.
