September has finally come. (Hopefully) gone are the days of the Dodgers and their mediocre and seemingly uninspired ways. Late August is usually not kind to the Dodgers, but it’s time to move on and gear up for the playoffs.

As has long been tradition with such a storied organization, the Dodgers have one of the best, if not the best pitching staff in the Major Leagues. The Dodgers have a League leading 3.39 ERA, lowest WHIP at 1.11, and have given up the least amount of earned runs.
Even though the regular-season schedules of the Dodgers‘ minor league affiliates will be ending in the next several weeks, seven players will continue to compete in the 2019 Arizona Fall League, a showcase which features some of the best young starts in baseball.

Beginning in 2020, the rules will change as far as roster expansion goes in September. The new regulation will allow a club to carry just 28 players on its expanded roster as opposed to the full 40 permitted by today’s rules. This should make for some interesting conjecture, especially with the Dodgers, who annually like to give many regulars prescribed rest periods down the stretch run of the season.
