It seems like every spring there are at least one or two prospects who capitalize on their opportunities during Cactus League play, perhaps showing fans of the Dodgers what might lie in store several years down the road.
According to several reports coming out of camp late Saturday morning, the Dodgers have designated longtime pitching prospect Yadier Alvarez for assignment.

While much of the early action surrounding the Dodgers at spring camp has been quite productive, there have been a few minor setbacks, specifically with regards to outfielder Joc Pederson.
Since the Dodgers were sold to the Guggenheim group, after wasting away for many years under Frank McCourt, Andrew Friedman and company have made a habit of finding diamonds in the rough.
While the Dodgers have been blessed with relatively good, overall health so far this spring, there are a handful of issues among a few players that continue to linger.

With much of the attention being given to righty flamethrower Brusdar Graterol as far as newly acquired relief pitchers go, another bullpen arm that could make some noise this spring belongs to southpaw Reymin Guduan.
In the final few days leading up to their Cactus League opener against San Francisco, it looked very much like the Dodgers would need to wait until Sunday to kick their spring off against the Cubs.
