The good news is that Hyun-Jin Ryu is believed to want to remain on the West Coast, and he may even be willing to offer a bit of a returning discount to do so. The bad news is, even with the slight discount, the lefty’s contract value is seemingly increasing by the day.
While many teams around baseball have been very aggressive with their respective player acquisitions so far this offseason, Andrew Friedman and the Dodgers have been much more cautious, seemingly waiting to make the right move at the exact right time.

As far as winter hot stove activity goes, rarely have we seen so much action take place before the annual Winter Meetings as we have this year. Most of the big free agents are still on the board, but plenty of clubs uncharacteristically have already snatched up dozens of serviceable players.
