Dodgers Acquire Cavan Biggio from Blue Jays

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Wednesday morning the acquisition of Cavan Biggio from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for minor league right-handed pitcher Braydon Fisher.

Biggio, 29, was designated for assignment on June 7 after appearing in 44 games for the Blue Jays. He hit .200 with four doubles, two homers and nine RBI this season with Toronto. He spent six seasons with the Blue Jays, slashing a combined .227/.343/.382 with 77 doubles, four triples, 48 homers and 176 RBI in 490 career games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the fifth round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Notre Dame University.

Dodgers End Homestand on Positive Note, Prepare for Pirates

After an ugly stretch involving the club’s worst losing streak in recent years, the Los Angeles Dodgers have won five of their last six games thanks to some timely hitting and solid pitching against the Mets and Rockies.

Although the club’s current offensive output hasn’t been anywhere near the numbers it produced over the first several weeks of the season, the team seems to be doing just enough to put themselves in the winning column, albeit against some of the worst teams in the league.

Random Thoughts on the First Quarter of the Dodgers 2024 Season

The roller coaster season that is the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers has reached the quarterway part – probably equivalent to the first big stomach in your throat inducing drop and has you a little worried about what is to come.

For the majority of Dodgers fans, they aren’t so much worried about the rest of the season, but they are looking forward apprehensively to the end part and if what happens now could carry over into October.

Dodgers Prospect Watch: What Lies Ahead for Hunter Feduccia?

Several moves that could take place for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 2024-25 offseason might very well depend on the performance of a handful of prospects on the fringe of the major leagues this year. Names like Landon Knack, Miguel Vargas, James Outman and Andy Pages may be in the spotlight right now, but one of the most overlooked positions on the team could be the catcher spot.

Seemingly, Will Smith and Austin Barnes have had a stronghold on the Los Angeles catcher spot forever now, and for good reason. Of course, Smith signed a monster contract before the season began that runs through his 2033 campaign. Smith can thank mostly his offensive prowess and his steadiness behind the plate, but the Dodgers had to have taken into consideration that Smith almost never lands on the injured list.

Dodgers Fall to Padres in Weekend Series at Petco Park

Mother’s Day weekend wasn’t overly kind to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the beginning of a six-game stint on the road. Despite a five-run output and a win on Saturday, there wasn’t much offense at all to speak about Friday’s opener and Sunday’s finale.

Obviously, former Dodger Yu Darvish was excellent in San Diego’s 4-0 victory on Sunday. It’s tough to say how the Dodgers would have fared with their prime lineup on the field, but Los Angeles just managed four hits on the afternoon, with two coming off the bat of shortstop Mookie Betts.
