Dodgers Sweep Braves, Walker Buehler Set for Return on Monday

The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Atlanta Braves this weekend in what could have been one of the club’s biggest series so far this season. The 5-1 win in Sunday’s finale was highlighted by an offensive showcase by DH Shohei Ohtani and another solid outing from veteran southpaw James Paxton.

Ohtani went 4-for-4 with two long balls and three RBI on the afternoon, increasing his team-leading average and OPS to .364 and a monstrous 1.111, respectively. His homers were his ninth and tenth of the season.
Outfielder Teoscar Hernandez added a long ball of his own in the sixth inning to extend the Dodger lead to four runs.

Dodgers Prospect Watch: Is Andy Pages Here to Stay?

Dodgers Avoid Sweep Against Mets

The Los Angeles Dodgers found a bit of redemption Sunday by avoiding a sweep against the New York Mets in what could have been one of the worst homestands in recent years.

The redemption wasn’t so much about getting revenge against the Mets as it was reassuring themselves just how capable they were of playing exceptional baseball.

Dodgers Looking for Momentum Change

It’s safe to say the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers have yet to fire on all cylinders. Although it is only mid April, many fans are up in arms about how the team has performed thus far.

After 21 games, the Dodgers sit at 12-9, one game ahead of the San Diego Padres in the NL West. They have only won two of their last seven games, which includes two losses to the aforementioned Padres, and only two wins in their current nine game home stand.

Dodgers Roster: Who’s Hot and Who’s Not

Although it’s been right around two weeks since the beginning of the season for most MLB teams, more time has passed for the Los Angeles Dodgers due to the South Korea trip to open up the year. The Dodgers already have 16 games on the books and are already on their second go-around with division foe San Diego.

Overall, the infamous Dodger offense has lived up to its name for the most part, despite a select few bottom-of-the-order regulars struggling mightily.

Shohei Ohtani’s Interpretor Charged with Stealing Over $16M from Ohtani

On Thursday, Shohei Ohtani’s translator, Ippei Mizuhara, was charged in connection with his theft of millions of dollars from Ohtani. And it’s much worse that was originally thought.

While in Korea for the international series against the San Diego Padres, Ohtani and the whole Los Angeles Dodgers team found out that Ippei had stolen around $4 million from Ohtani. Ippei was then fired from his duties as Ohtani’s translator.

Dodgers Embark on First Road Trip of Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting their first road trip of this season, aside from that little sojourn to Korea. Does that actually count as a road trip?

Regardless, this one is a little six game spin through the north side of Chicago and the Twin Cities.

First up is a three game set against the Cubs, where the friendly confines of Wrigley Field may not be so friendly, temperature wise. All three games are mid afternoon games, local time, and no day while they’re there is it supposed to be above 50°. Sunday looks like there is rain forecast for most of the day.

Dodgers Starting Rotation: Glasnow, Miller Looking Sharp Early

Heading into the start of the 2024 regular season, the offense of the Los Angeles Dodgers received most of the attention across the baseball blogosphere by boasting one of the most prolific one-two-three punches the game has seen in recent history.

However, a pair of righty pitchers stole the show this week, leading the Dodgers to two early victories in their home opening series at Dodgers Stadium.
