The Los Angeles Dodgers are one week into the 2023 season, currently sporting a record of 4-2, and all alone in first place in the division.
The name of the game this early in the season is small sample size, of course, but we are still going to use it to compare and contrast players on the Dodgers and teams in the NL West.

A decision has finally been made in the Trevor Bauer case. On Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers designated Bauer for assignment. They will now have seven days to trade him or release him from the organization. His time with the Dodgers organization has come to an end.

I should start by saying that I didn’t expect to be writing after the 2022 season. Nothing because of what happened with the Dodgers over the course of the year, but rather my own personal schedule and priorities. The Los Angeles Dodgers are finally making some moves this winter, although they are not big and splashy like some of their counterpart teams.
The Dodgers have passed on pretty much all of the top free agents of this year. Justin Verlander went to the Mets. Aaron Judge re-signed with the Yankees. Trea Turner returned to the East Coast to play for the Phillies. And most recently, Carlos Correa signed a 13-year deal with play with the rival San Francisco Giants.

Another Los Angeles Dodgers season has come to an end, and fans of the team are once again grappling with a way too early exit.
While many lamented about the lack of pitching depth, in the end, it was once again the offense that failed to show up. The top offense in baseball, they of the +334 run differential, could barely string together any hits. They blew a multitude of chances, stranding runners left an right. There seemed to be a complete lack of urgency and fire throughout the whole NLDS series.

What many thought would be a pitching duel between Clayton Kershaw and Yu Darvish turned out to be a slogfest with the Padres evening the series 1-1, finally pulling out a postseason win against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Clayton Kershaw was not very sharp through the first two innings. He allowed a home run to Manny Machado in the top of the first. In the second, he allowed two hits but dug deep to strike out the final two batters of the inning to escape unscathed.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2022 regular season has come to a close. The Dodgers finished with a record of 111-51, the most wins ever in team history. They won the NL West by a margin of 22 games, over the San Diego Padres.
They also finished with the best team ERA in the majors at 2.80, WHIP at 1.05, and batting average against, .209. They have four starters who made 20 plus starts, and had sub 2.60 ERAs, the first team to do that since the 1919 Cincinnati Reds.
