Dodgers Prospect Watch: What Lies Ahead for Hunter Feduccia?

Several moves that could take place for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 2024-25 offseason might very well depend on the performance of a handful of prospects on the fringe of the major leagues this year. Names like Landon Knack, Miguel Vargas, James Outman and Andy Pages may be in the spotlight right now, but one of the most overlooked positions on the team could be the catcher spot.

Seemingly, Will Smith and Austin Barnes have had a stronghold on the Los Angeles catcher spot forever now, and for good reason. Of course, Smith signed a monster contract before the season began that runs through his 2033 campaign. Smith can thank mostly his offensive prowess and his steadiness behind the plate, but the Dodgers had to have taken into consideration that Smith almost never lands on the injured list.

Dodgers Fall to Padres in Weekend Series at Petco Park

Mother’s Day weekend wasn’t overly kind to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the beginning of a six-game stint on the road. Despite a five-run output and a win on Saturday, there wasn’t much offense at all to speak about Friday’s opener and Sunday’s finale.

Obviously, former Dodger Yu Darvish was excellent in San Diego’s 4-0 victory on Sunday. It’s tough to say how the Dodgers would have fared with their prime lineup on the field, but Los Angeles just managed four hits on the afternoon, with two coming off the bat of shortstop Mookie Betts.

Dodgers Sweep Braves, Walker Buehler Set for Return on Monday

The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Atlanta Braves this weekend in what could have been one of the club’s biggest series so far this season. The 5-1 win in Sunday’s finale was highlighted by an offensive showcase by DH Shohei Ohtani and another solid outing from veteran southpaw James Paxton.

Ohtani went 4-for-4 with two long balls and three RBI on the afternoon, increasing his team-leading average and OPS to .364 and a monstrous 1.111, respectively. His homers were his ninth and tenth of the season.
Outfielder Teoscar Hernandez added a long ball of his own in the sixth inning to extend the Dodger lead to four runs.

Dodgers Prospect Watch: Is Andy Pages Here to Stay?

One of the central themes surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers so far in 2024 is how they quickly go from scorching hot one day to ice cold the next, particularly on offense. Fortunately, the winning streak before Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Blue Jays was one of the team’s best runs so far this season, keeping the club ahead of the pack in the National League West.

Dodgers Avoid Sweep Against Mets

The Los Angeles Dodgers found a bit of redemption Sunday by avoiding a sweep against the New York Mets in what could have been one of the worst homestands in recent years.

The redemption wasn’t so much about getting revenge against the Mets as it was reassuring themselves just how capable they were of playing exceptional baseball.

Dodgers Roster: Who’s Hot and Who’s Not

Although it’s been right around two weeks since the beginning of the season for most MLB teams, more time has passed for the Los Angeles Dodgers due to the South Korea trip to open up the year. The Dodgers already have 16 games on the books and are already on their second go-around with division foe San Diego.

Overall, the infamous Dodger offense has lived up to its name for the most part, despite a select few bottom-of-the-order regulars struggling mightily.

Dodgers Starting Rotation: Walker Buehler Nearing MLB Return

Although spirits weren’t particularly high when the Los Angeles Dodgers left Wrigley Field in Chicago on Sunday evening, the team could be in for a major energy boost when 29-year-old righty Walker Buehler returns to the mound sometime soon.

Dodgers Starting Rotation: Glasnow, Miller Looking Sharp Early

Heading into the start of the 2024 regular season, the offense of the Los Angeles Dodgers received most of the attention across the baseball blogosphere by boasting one of the most prolific one-two-three punches the game has seen in recent history.

However, a pair of righty pitchers stole the show this week, leading the Dodgers to two early victories in their home opening series at Dodgers Stadium.

Dodgers Roster: 4 Things to Watch as the Second Round of 2024 Opening Day Approaches

The 2024 regular season has already been unique for the Los Angeles Dodgers in ways they’ve never seen in the past — an opening series in South Korea, a leadoff batter hitting the cover off the baseball and a potential gambling scandal with scores of unanswered questions.

Dodgers Roster: What Lies Ahead for Blake Treinen?

Each year during spring training there seems to be an obligatory conversation surrounding whether veteran righty Blake Treinen could make a potential contribution to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 35-year-old reliever hasn’t pitched a full season since 2021 when he logged 72.1 innings of work with 85 punchouts and an impressive 0.982 WHIP. However, 2024 could be the year when he at least starts the season relatively healthy with a full head of steam.
