Welcome to December. A time in which the snow starts to fall and holiday shopping is atop many to-do lists. December is also the time when the entirety of baseball convenes at one location for the Winter Meetings. Contrary to its name, the Winter Meetings are when the hot stove is alive and unignorable, like a warm summer day in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.

Dodgers Are in No Hurry to Fine-Tune Player Roster

Shohei Ohtani is an Angel. Giancarlo Stanton is a Yankee. The Dodgers? They’re still the reigning National League Champions. I think most of us believed that at least one of the two, Ohtani or Stanton, would become Dodgers. If not both. Then again, a logical case couldn’t be made for either. Ohtani wants to hit and pitch, something an AL team would be able to help him do better than a National League team. As for Stanton, the Dodgers wanted to decrease payroll, and couldn’t match the deal that the Yankees offered the Marlins.

Yu Darvish has been traded to the Dodgers.” It’s a statement that rang throughout baseball at about 1:15PM PST on July 31st, 2017. As fans waited anxiously by their TVs and laptops, phones in hand refreshing Twitter and watching MLB Network, news arrived like a gentle snow in the middle of January.

Get ready, Dodger fans, a trade for Giancarlo Stanton might be the spark the Dodgers need to win the World Series in 2018. Picture this: Stanton in left, Chris Taylor in center, and Yasiel Puig in right. Should this dream outfield become a reality, the Dodgers will have flipped the script of the 2018 season.

Why Giancarlo Stanton Ending Up With Giants Shouldn’t Worry Dodgers Fans

It’s all but official—Giancarlo Stanton is getting traded. This is a logical move by the Marlins, as new ownership looks to shake things up and lighten the payroll. In the past week, two teams have reportedly been linked to Stanton and are looking to complete a deal—the St. Lois Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants.

Dodgers Roster: A Few November Predictions for Opening Day 2018

I, like many of you, miss baseball a lot right now. It’s been two weeks since Game 7, and I finally feel ready to move forward, but spring training doesn’t start for three months. Until February, we have the holidays, we have the joy of winter, and we have offseason trades and free agent signings. Though the offseason is not nearly as riveting as Game 7, it’s still something, and it’s worth getting excited about.  In the past, my predictions as to who the Dodgers would sign have been, for the most part, incorrect and conventional.

At the non-waiver trade deadline, they all say that the team that makes a big move will be the team putting themselves in the best position to win in October. Well, winter is no exception. The free agent market this year is interesting, and there are some big names out there—players that contenders need to sign.

All season we’ve been saying, “If they don’t get to the World Series, does any of this matter?” Well, guess what, the Dodgers are in the World Series and this, all of this, matters.

With the entirety of baseball still thinking about Game 3 of the World Series, it was time to play ball once again.

Going into Game 4, with Alex Wood on the mound, Dave Roberts sent the same lineup to the field as he had in Game 3. Though Cody Bellinger has had his struggles recently, he stayed in the cleanup spot, and Joc Pederson remained the DH.

The heat in L.A. today was unusual. The performance on the field was not. In October, some teams feed of the crisp, autumn feeling in the air. These past two days, though, the Dodgers have thrived off the record temperatures in the great city of Los Angeles.
