Dodgers Head to Cleveland After Successful Weekend at Home

What an absolutely fun weekend of Dodgers baseball. Two comeback wins, and a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds. This team continues to show no quit when down late in the game.

Both comebacks were spurred on by shortstop Corey Seager, who with a walkoff double Saturday night, recorded his first ever walkoff hit at any level. For a player as talented as he, that seems highly improbable. But, baseball. Seager then proceeded to smash the go-ahead runs in with his first ever grand slam in the eighth-inning. That also was his first grand slam in the major leagues. Again, surprising.

Dodgers Activate Justin Turner, Option Brett Eibner to Oklahoma City

The Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday announced the return of Justin Turner from the disabled list. Turner will immediately return to the lineup, batting third and playing third base in Friday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Dodgers Hope Justin Turner Provides Spark to Sputtering Offense

To say the Dodgers‘ offense has been lackluster lately would be a bit of an understatement. After scoring 10 runs in Milwaukee last Friday, the Dodgers have only scored five runs in five games since then. Granted, they were facing some of the best pitchers they’ve face so far in Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg, but still the offense has left something to be desired.

Fans of Dodgers Going Extra Mile to Support Prospective All-Stars

All-Stars can be a somewhat divisive subject. Is it truly a showing of the greatest players in MLB, or is it just a popularity contest? There are arguments for either side. It does usually showcase the best of the best, but as last year’s NL All-Star team showed with the number of Cubs, some of whom were definitely not the best of their position, it can just be a popularity contest.

Dodgers Awards: Wood and Bellinger Capture National League Monthly Honors

Two more accolades were added to members of the Dodgers organization today. Announced earlier on MLB Network, starter Alex Wood was named NL Pitcher of the Month, and Cody Bellinger was named NL Rookie of the Month.

Dodgers Injury Notes: McCarthy, Wood, Pederson, Turner, Ethier & More

Another day, another injury to a player on the Dodgers. Or at least it seems that way, especially to the pitching staff. The latest to incur an injury is starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy. He left Thursday’s game after four innings with a blister on his right index finger.

Dodgers Place Alex Wood on Disabled List, Select Contract of Brandon Morrow

The Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday selected the contract of right-hander Brandon Morrow and placed left-handed pitcher Alex Wood on the 10-day disabled list with left SC joint inflammation in his neck/upper-back area. Wood’s stay on the disabled list can be retroactive to May 27, if needed.

Dodgers Hope to Carry Momentum Through Current Homestand

The high-powered Dodgers offense had a very good weekend at home, scoring a total of 26 runs, and they didn’t score less than six runs in any one game. Even though the beginning of Saturday’s game looked as though it may be bad, even possibly a no-hitter, the offense battled back to score six runs. Invariably. that was not enough to win the game. However, the Dodgers still took three of four from the struggling Marlins.
