The offensive fireworks were definitely not as prolific as they’ve been for the Dodgers recently. and the middle of the Los Angeles bullpen was once again victimized by some very timely hitting. In a contest that was very quiet for the first half of the evening, the Giants walked away with a 4-2 win against the Dodgers in the series opener Monday night at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers Hope Offensive Momentum Carries into San Francisco Series

It was an opening weekend for the record books. The Dodgers hit 14 home runs, scored 42 runs total, mounted a beautiful comeback on Sunday, and overall went 3-1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks to open the 2019 season.

Dodgers Use 8th-Inning Rally to Defeat Diamondbacks, Capture Opening Series

Capitalizing upon the poor pitching of starter Walker Buehler and reliever Pedro Baez, the Diamondbacks used a seven-run fourth inning to take control of the series’ final game on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a potent Dodgers offense at the end of the game from claiming another victory.

5 Early-Season Concerns Facing Dodgers

By no means do two games define a season, but already we have seen the Dodgers perform on many different levels, especially when it comes to playing down to the abilities of their opponent. After Friday night’s marathon loss, fans were reminded of some of the aspects of play that saw Los Angeles need a divisional playoff game to capture their sixth-consecutive NL West crown. While it’s certainly too early to make any predictions, there are a handful of things that followers can watch which may be critical, at least in the early portion of the season.

Dodgers Announce 2019 Opening Day Roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers Thursday morning announced their Opening Day 25-man roster ahead of the 2019 regular season, which begins Thursday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. Pacific time against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.  The club also placed left-handed pitchers Tony Cingrani, Rich Hill and Clayton Kershaw on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 25. President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman made the announcement.
