The Dodgers made it official on Friday — Adrian Gonzalez will be going to the DL for the first time in his 14-year major league career. He had the big league record among active players for most games played without going on the disabled list, going 1,774 games since 2006. He had never missed more than six games in a season in that time frame.

By the time the Dodgers head into San Diego this weekend for a three-game divisional series, the team’s 25-man roster may have a bit of a different look, most specifically with the return of three position players — Franklin Gutierrez, Joc Pederson and Logan Forsythe.
After Saturday evening’s come-from-behind, walk-off victory against the Phillies, many who are close to the Dodgers, including skipper Dave Roberts himself, believe that the monumental win has potentially infused a bit of momentum, and conceivably could be the one contest that may spearhead a new direction for the squad.

The Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday placed left-handed pitcher Rich Hill on the 10-day disabled list with a blister on his left middle finger and recalled right-hander Josh Fields from Triple-A Oklahoma City. The move will be retroactive to April 6.

To say that Scott Kazmir‘s rehab start for Oklahoma City on Wednesday evening “didn’t go so well” would probably be a bit of an understatement.
Early reports from the clubhouse after the game indicated that Kazmir was suffering the same types of neck and rib cage pain that initially landed him on the disabled list last month. The 32-year-old southpaw was removed from the playoff opener against Nashville with just two outs in the first inning. During the struggle, Kazmir hit two batters, walked two more, and gave up a home run before making way to righty Lisalverto Bonilla. OKC would make an effort to battle back from the early deficit, but eventually fell to the Sounds, 10-7.
