The Dodgers on Monday evening announced their first two selections in the 2019 MLB draft, picking Tulane University third baseman Kody Hoese with their first pick (25th overall) and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill second baseman Michael Busch with their second selection of the first round (31st overall).

In a Battle of NL Powerhouses, Dodgers Sweep Phillies in Los Angeles

In what initially seemed like it would be a tight contest to the finish, the Dodgers piled on seven runs in a lopsided eighth inning, propelling them to an 8-0 victory over the Phillies at Chavez Ravine on Sunday. The win clinched the series sweep for the Dodgers, who now have 41 wins on the year—more than any other team in baseball.
