The Los Angeles Dodgers finished their week at 2-5, and nearly were swept in a four game series by the Philadelphia Phillies. They had already lost two of three to the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Dodgers were thoroughly owned by teams from the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The injury bug is already digging its sharp teeth into the Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff, and we’re still not at the quarter-way mark of the year.
Although the 2022 season began extremely well for both the starting rotation and relief crew, things may be starting to bend a bit, especially if the last few games are any indication.

After sweeping the Chicago Cubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the opening game of a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. The loss ended their six-game winning streak, as well as a 16-game winning streak against the Pirates. Such games are bound to happen, especially in an early game after a long flight.

The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a three-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs over the weekend, including a doubleheader on Saturday and an appearance on Sunday Night Baseball. The Dodgers out scored the Cubs 20-3 with all three starters doing a great job. Dodgers starters have now allowed two earned runs or fewer over the last fifteen games.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting the month of May statistically tied for first place with the San Diego Padres, and only 0.5 games ahead of the San Francisco Giants. If they would like to put a little breathing room between themselves and these two teams, this month would be a good time to do it.

However, this early in the season things are changing daily, as four out of the five best records in the National League are in the West division. The Mets became the first team to win 10 games, while the Dodgers had an off day yesterday.

There’s no question that Ryan Noda is one of the primary reasons Triple-A Oklahoma City currently sits atop the Pacific Coast League East division with a 7-4 record.
Entering Sunday’s game against El Paso, the lefty-hitting Noda is slashing a highly impressive .371/.500/.743 (13-for-35) with four homers and nine RBI. For those horrible at math, that calculates to a ridiculous 1.243 OPS.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one week away from opening up the 2022 season in Denver against the Colorado Rockies. Before camp breaks, however, there are still a few unanswered questions.
The number of players still in camp as of Thursday afternoon was 41. The season will open with a 28-man roster so teams will have a little help in the pitching department because of the truncated spring training schedule.
