The Dodgers pitching staff still has the lowest ERA in the majors at 2.76 and has held opponents to a .213 batting average. But the Dodger offense is currently sixth best in the majors, just one point out of the top five. Having both the offense and pitching ranked that high has definitely aided to winning success.

Last week, the Los Angeles Dodgers dropped a series to both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies, posting a 2-5 record over that span. Since then, they swept a four-game series at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks, including a sweep of a doubleheader. The team will now begin a 10-game road trip riding a five-game winning streak.

What a wild game on Thursday, as the Los Angeles Dodgers were edged out by the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 9-7. After the Phillies led 7-1, the Dodgers came back and tied the game at 7 in the eighth inning. However, the Phillies scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning off of Dodger reliever Daniel Hudson.

After sweeping the Chicago Cubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers dropped the opening game of a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. The loss ended their six-game winning streak, as well as a 16-game winning streak against the Pirates. Such games are bound to happen, especially in an early game after a long flight.
