This off-season has indeed seemed like a broken record, a recycling of rumors new and old regarding the Dodgers, and if and whom they might make a trade for.
All of the baseball world is in a quiet holding pattern in the days leading up to pitchers and catchers reporting. Sure, there’s an odd signing or trade here or there, but overall, it’s all been pretty uneventful.

Besides the Dodgers pitching staff, anther place on their roster the Dodgers have a plethora of players is the outfield.
Well, Christmas has come and gone and Dodgers fans did not find a new starter or another right-handed batter under their tree. While many times here I have said that the Dodgers don’t need to make immediate upgrades, it still would have been nice to have a holiday surprise.
Late last night, news broke that Hyun-Jin Ryu signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The offseason has been pretty full of trades and signings already. Dodgers fans had thought that maybe, the team they root for would be involved in more of them. One by one, fans have watched Gerrit Cole, Anthony Rendon, Stephen Strasburg, and even Madison Bumgarner sign with someone else.
I will begin this post by stating the caveat that I know the offseason is not done, that it is only the 12th of December. The Dodgers front office is not done trying to make this team better, and that more moves are yet to come. But the fact that the Dodgers did not sign any of the Top 3 free agents this winter is a little mystifying.
