Dodgers Prepare for Home Series Against Rockies

Here we are still during the first month of the season and there are only three teams that have not lost a series. The Dodgers are one of those teams, along with crosstown rivals the Angels and the Royals.

The Royals and Angels are currently facing one another three-game series, so one of them will be crossed off the list.

The Dodgers are hopeful to remain on the list as well, as they face the last team to defeat them in a regular-season series in the Rockies. Colorado took two games out of a three-game series, last season at Dodger Stadium.

This will be the second series between the two division opponents. The Dodgers took three out of four games during the Opening Series in Colorado.

The three pitchers who are set to pitch for Los Angeles are Trevor Bauer, Dustin May, and Julio Urias.

After missing the whole weekend series against the Washington Nationals with back stiffness, right fielder Mookie Betts returns to the lineup in the opener. We will have to wait at least until the weekend for Cody Bellinger’s return, as he was placed on the 10-day injured list.

Bauer in Tuesday’s opener will oppose Colorado right-hander Antonio Senzatela.

Senzatela faced the Dodgers during the Opening Series and did not fare well. The Dodgers tagged him for seven runs and nine hits in just 3 ⅓ innings. Senzatela throughout his career is winless at Dodger Stadium.

Bauer against the Athletics in his last outing went 6 ⅔ innings, allowing two runs and three hits while striking out ten batters.

After the conclusion of the series with the Rockies, the much-anticipated showdown between the Dodgers and Padres will happen over the weekend in San Diego. It looks like Fernando Tatis will return for the Padres, with Bellinger’s return also a possibility.

However, the Dodgers will need to focus on the Rockies first, as they seek revenge from the loss on Opening Day.

The first pitch for Tuesday’s opener is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Pacific time.

  1. Who is this Mookie Betts guy and why are they benching our best hitter ZMac in order to play him?

I happen to be a Beaty fan but I think they should do him a favor and trade him. It seems as though Rios and McKinstry will be getting most of his at bats and they can’t expect him to be a productive hitter if he only gets one at bat as a pinch hitter every 2 or 3 games. FREE BEATY! Just don’t send him to SD or SF. I still expect him to have a viable MLB career, but it will probably be mostly as a DH and it isn’t likely to be here.

    1. I agree Jeff. Beaty has done every thing the team has asked. Trade him somewhere he will get a chance to play. And get another RH bat for the bench.
