The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their 2017 NLDS roster to oppose the Diamondbacks on Friday morning, and we here at Think Blue Planning Committee predicted it pretty well.

This year they have decided to go with three catchers and twelve pitchers, amongst the other players.

The team will once again be led by staff ace Clayton Kershaw, as well as Yu Darvish, Rich Hill, and Alex Wood rounding out the starting pitchers.

Infielders include Cody Bellinger, Logan Forsythe, Corey Seager, Justin Turner and Chase Utley

Outfielders are Yasiel Puig, Chris Taylor, Andre Ethier, Kiké Hernandez and Curtis Ganderson.

The men behind the plate will be Yasmani Grandal, Austin Barnes, and Kyle Farmer. Farmer’s inclusion will free up Barnes to play in the field, as well as being used in righty-lefty matchups, and allow Grandal to be a power bat off the bench.

The bullpen will consist of Kenley Jansen, Brandon Morrow, Tony Cingrani, Tony Watson, Josh Fields, Kenta Maeda, Ross Stripling, and Pedro Baez. It seems that the lobbying Jansen did to have Baez on the team paid off.

“I’m definitely confident he’s worked out his issues,” skipper Dave Roberts said earlier this week. “It’s been a tough stretch for Pedro, but he’s had four scoreless outings in a row, and he’s throwing the ball well”.

Notables left off the roster are Hyun-Jin Ryu, who will continue his routine in case of a possible NLCS inclusion, Walker Buehler, the Dodgers number one pitching prospect, and Tim Locastro, who was brought up at the end of the season to be a possible pinch runner off the bench. Only 14 of the players on the postseason roster were on the Opening Day roster.
