Merry Christmas to all our loyal readers! To say that 2020 has been a crazy year would be an understatement. As fans, many of our lives were filled with joy and excitement when the Dodgers won their first World Series Championship since 1988. However, as ordinary people, some of us have suffered greatly on multiple levels as a result of the pandemic.
Nevertheless, we feel gifted here at TBPC to have created such a modest baseball journal, having been blessed with the ability to share our opinions and observations of the Dodgers and their minor league affiliates. It’s hard to believe that we’ll be entering our sixth year of existence. Both Andy and I feel privileged and humbled to have been here from the beginning. There’s no better feeling than having your own personal writing stage, especially when it comes to expressing thoughts about your favorite baseball team.
Andy and I would also like to thank José for joining our writing team this year. There were indeed times—specifically during the stages when we were not sure if there would be any baseball—that José kept us chugging along with his creative content. Additionally, we’d like to extend our special thanks to Ian for coming back, as he masterfully showcases his strong writing skills and outstanding knowledge of the team during the weekends.
More importantly, we’d like to thank all our readers for their constant support. Without our dedicated following, TBPC would have fallen on its face a long time ago. Because of the commitment from our audience, we continue to rapidly grow, establishing new viewing records with each passing year—even in 2020.
In the same breath, we’d like to send out thanks to our friends and supporters who invest so much time in providing their own insight in the comment sections. Personally, there have been times when these folks have helped me correct quite a few oversights and inaccuracies. We’d be lost without you.
Special thanks are also in order to our partner sites, who generously include our content and reporting while unselfishly spreading the word of the Dodgers to thousands of readers across the planet. Without their support, our audience would be only a small percentage of what it is now.
In addition to providing added comprehensive coverage of the Dodgers, we plan on conducting several more interactive reader giveaways in 2021. If you have not checked out our Twitter page, please do so. Every Sunday, we continue our highly popular baseball card giveaway, as most of these cards are rookie cards of some of the organization’s most talented players. Last weekend, we gave away a 2014 Panini Classics rookie card of superstar Mookie Betts.
Although there’s still some uncertainty surrounding the specifics of the 2021 season, our daily coverage will continue as the Los Angeles management crew moves forward in crafting the player roster for the upcoming campaign. Regardless of when the season ultimately begins, we’ll still be here daily to provide our take on all the action.
As always, if anyone has a topic to recommend, a question about a post, an idea about making our site better, or just a general inquiry, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Here’s to hoping all of our viewers have a fantastic start to 2021 and that the Dodgers make a strong run in hauling in back-to-back World Series Championships.
