The Dodgers publicly unveiled their 2017 spring training schedule on Wednesday, with their ninth season of Cactus League play beginning on Saturday, February 25 against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch in Glendale.
The Dodgers will play 18 of their 34 Cactus League games at Camelback Ranch, including 17 home dates. In addition, the Dodgers will host a special home game against a squad from the Tokyo bracket of the World Baseball Classic on Sunday, March 19.
Los Angeles has at least one home game during each of the five Cactus League weekends, giving local fans easy access to make the quick trip to the desert. Camelback Ranch features a state-of-the-art ballpark, six practice fields on the Dodger side, including a replica Dodger Stadium field, fan photo elements commemorating Dodger history, walking trails, an orange grove and a five-acre lake.
The facility as a whole includes more than 118,000 square feet of Major and Minor League clubhouse space, 13 full baseball fields and three half-fields. The main stadium includes seating for 13,000 fans, 12 luxury suites, the unique elevated Legends Deck and the fan favorite Four Peaks Patio.
The Dodgers will be at home the entire weekend of March 10-12, taking on the Texas Rangers Friday night at 7:05 p.m., before facing the Angels on Saturday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. and finishing against the White Sox on Sunday night at 7:05 p.m. Los Angeles will also be at home on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, when they square off under the lights against the Seattle Mariners at 7:05 p.m. The World Champion Chicago Cubs will visit Camelback Ranch on Thursday, March 16 at 1:05 p.m.
After returning from Arizona, the club will conclude its exhibition schedule with three games against the Angels in a Freeway Series on March 30-April 1, ending with a contest at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, April 1.
The Dodgers already have dedicated links setup for the full spring schedule and all ticket sales on dodgers.com. Single-game spring training tickets go on sale on Monday, January 9 and can be bought as low as $10.00 per seat. A full schedule of promotions is available at www.camelbackranchbaseball.com.
The club hasn’t yet released the dates for players to report to camp, although it is believed by many to be sometime during the week of February 13.
